Marcos Dajczer is a researcher at the Instituto Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) in Rio de Janeiro. His main field of research is Submanifold Theory and is the author of around 130 articles. He is a fellow of the J. S. Guggenheim Foundation as well as a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) and The World  Academy of Sciences (TWAS). His other interests include natural sciences and politics. Ruy Tojeiro is currently professor at the University of São Paulo at São Carlos (Brazil), and has been professor at the Federal University of São Carlos until 2018. He has authored over 50 research articles on Submanifold Theory. Besides mathematics, Ruy Tojeiro enjoys playing the baroque recorder.
